Day Nineteen, Priest Rapids Recreation Area to Plymouth Park Campground. We hurried through Washington on our way to the Zone of Totality to view the total solar eclipse on Monday to our campsite in the bush. Plymouth Campground is a nice Army Corps of Engineers site on the Columbia River with an absolutely amazing swimming spot which is just a quick ride from the main camping area.
We spent an uneventful night here and quickly packed up the next day so we could get out to Oregon for the eclipse. We were initially concerned about the traffic, as it is rumoured that there will be close to a million people heading down into Oregon today and tomorrow. We can’t wait to see if the campsite pans out. Stay tuned!
Sparse campsite at Plymouth Campground (note the train and the highway in the background).
Beautiful swimming hole at Plymouth.
It’s like an aquarium in there.
Just get a raft and float.
Daily time lapse… (coming soon when I can get some WIFI!)
